Our original plan was that today we would travel from Vichy to Agen, France to get to our next workaway. We bought Eurail Passes last week, and even paid extra to get them shipped to us in for days. The confirmation email told us that we were to recieve the tickets on or before Nov. 4th (yesterday). Now, this is France, and we are way out in the country, so when the DHL truck didnt show up yesterday, we were only a little surprised, and pushed our plans forward a day.
This morning I got up before sunrise and went for a jog, hoping that it would calm my nerves a little and make me a little less irritable. It was a lovely run, and we had a nice morning together...all the while thinking, "if they deliver it within the next hour, we could still make our train!". But it never came. I've been tracking my order as it moves through Europe, ever since it left Dublin. Finally, I wrote an email to the Eurail customer service people, asking if they knew anything... A few hours later they responded asking me to confirm the name and address, and saying that it had been delivered and signed for by "iolani", on Oct. 4th.
Anyway, we've called all the neighbors, called DHL France, emailed Euroline, etc., and finally they're actually trying to figure out who has it. We've been tugging along our next workaway hosts in Gers, France, having to change our plans because of all this train ticket excitement, but now that we have no idea if or when we'll get these Passes, I don't know what to tell them. Oh well. There must be a reason for all this...
